LOCAL – DISRUPTIVE – COMMUNITY – OWNERSHIP – CHANGE
Welcome to Glasgow East’s FREE Community Newspaper.
We are a FREE Seasonal Community Newspaper for the communities of Glasgow East from the High Street through London Road, Duke Street & the Gallowgate to Easterhouse and every neighbourhood in between.
Formerly an online only news blog, we are now moving to print to reach more people, especially those that are not online.
- Run a social group?
- Volunteer with a local charity?
- Have some good news to share?
We’d be glad to hear from you.
Irvine Welsh’s new 6-part drama adaptation comes to Shettleston.
We caught up with location Manager, Gordon Keen from Buccaneer Ltd on location at the Portland Arms on Shettleston road.
The pub was briefly renamed the “Poachers Arms” Edinburgh for the filming as the drama is set to an Edinburgh backdrop.
A new group on Facbook has being making a positive impact across Glasgow.
The group – established by Jamie Canavan – has almost 4000 members who all highlight & share hotspots for poor and often dangerous potholes and unsatisfactory road surfaces across the city.

Tesco Parkhead – Community.
Susan Wilson (community colleague) for Tesco Parkhead has been out doing her fair share for a range of community and charitable projects across Glasgow East.
